For
Nasrallah, painting and photography are an artistic empowerment
to his writings seeking to establish the interrelationship between
the word and the image. "Images and Words" is the title of his
actual photography exhibition, it includes photos taken in Venice
and Ireland in 2003, that are abstract images of reflections on
water. In parallel with the exhibition, Nasrallah will be signing
his newly published book "Safe Weddings under the Morning Sun.
The poet and novelist, Ibrahim Nasrallah was born in Amman 1954.
He studied at the UN Refugee (UNRWA) schools, then at the Teacher
Training Center in Amman. He worked in journalism from 1978 till
1996. Since then, has been directing the cultural and literary
activities at The Khalid Shoman Foundation - Darat al Funun.
Nasrallah was hosted to present his work in the international
arena in several literally and academic events, (USA 1990, Paris
1993, Edinburgh 2002, Rome 2002).

In
2003 he was the guest of honor at the Fondamenta of Venice.
He was also invited to Dublin, Cork, Galway, Kinsale and Belfast
for a literary encounter with academic and cultural institutions
organized by the Ireland - Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
Nasrallah has published 13 collections of poetry and 10 novels
to date. He has won seven prizes for his works; "The Best
Book of the Year Award" in 1980, 1982 and 1984. "The Arar
Poetry Award" for his complete works in 1991. "The Tayseer
Sboul Novelās Award" for his novels in 1994 given by the Jordanian
Writers Society. "The Najeeb Mahfouth Prize" (Egypt) for his
novel "Just the 2 of Us" in 1996. "The Al-Uweis Literary Award,
for Arab poetry, UAE, in 1997" which is the most prestigious
award for writers in Arabic.

Many
of Nasrallah's work has been translated to various European
languages, including English, French, German and Spanish.
Several Arab and European academics from universities in Palestine,
Jordan, Iraq, Italy, France, and the UK have undertaken postgraduate
theses work on his literary work.

Nasrallah
has also participated in 1993 in an exhibition entitled
"Writers Who Paint" at the Royal Cultural Center. In
1996 he exhibited for the first time at Darat al Funun
under the title "The Autobiography of an Eye"
