Juman Nimri
Jordanian Artist

Jordanian artist Juman Nimri presents a “study” of her surrounding space in a series of black and white photographs. Using light as the focus off her work, Nimri creates strong images and renders her still life photographs into unpretentious abstract compositions.

Juman Nimri was born in Jordan 1974. Received a BA in Fine Art from Yarmouk University, Jordan. Participated in Graphic printing course by at the Jordan National Gallery of Fine arts in 2006, and in Graphic printing course by Swedish artist Svenrobert Lundquist at the Jordan National Gallery of Fine art in 2002, and in Graphic printing course by American artist Lynn Allen, Jordan National Gallery of Fine art in 2001. Conducted her first solo exhibition at the French Culture Center in Amman in 2005. Participated in several group exhibitions, such as a Celebration of Jordanian Contemporary Art at 4 Walls in 2006, Miniatures exhibition at Orfali Gallery in Amman in 2005, the 4th International Cairo Graphics Biennale in 2003. Won the 3rd prize, at the second photography competition at the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts.
