Shaker Hasan al Said (1929-2004)
- IRAQ Born in Samawa
in 1929. Works and lives in Baghdad. His
wonderfully textured paintings that look like
sections of ancient weathered walls play with a
sense of time. The graffitti that sprawls across
them - the isolated Arabic letters and the
splatters of paint however, bring them right
